Viscosity describes how an oil flows under defined conditions. It does not replace the exact specification required by the vehicle manufacturer.
SAE viscosity
The number before the W describes the oil's low-temperature flow properties. The second number describes its behaviour at operating temperature.
What motor oil does
Motor oil lubricates moving components, reduces friction and wear, and supports reliable long-term engine operation.
